My name is Anastasia and I am Chronically Fabulous.TM
My Chronically Fabulous Mission Statement:
Chronically Fabulous is dedicated to facing the overwhelming stark reality of chronic illness with humor, wit, style and glamour.
Welcome to my site....... Thank you for your support
I. Personally: I have a severe disabling chronic illness: Fibromyalgia, or FMS. In these pages I explain what Fibromyalgia is, and in my Blog I write about how it has affected my life, my self-image, my relationships. I'd like to share my journey, and also to ASK for YOUR HELP, as a friend. I currently am awaiting an appeal on a disability claim, and being unable to work, I have no insurance and not enough money to pay for treatment. Without medication and physical therapies, I get sicker and unable to function on the most basic levels, such as writing my blog, walking, etc. If I anything in these pages touches you, please DONATE. Thanks to donors like you, I am still up and fighting to regain my health. II. To Reach out to others: Chronic Illness can be very isolating, and by sharing my struggles and ideas - especially with humor and sarcasm and self-affirmation - I like letting others with chronic illness know they are not alone, and that someone understands. Getting emails and comments from others is creating community - reaching out to let someone know they are not alone. If through my struggle I can comfort someone who needs it, I like to know that I am still contributing to making the world a better place. III. To Amuse and Enlighten: In these pages, I explain a lot about Fibromyalgia, in the hopes that it will help readers understand chronic illness. If you are the friend, partner, co-worker, or even just someone who encounters chronic illness in your life somehow, I understand that the needs and behaviors of a chronically ill person can be confusing and upsetting. I hope that by understanding each other better, we can ALL become more compassionate to one another. And isn't that what life is all about? On the other hand, my blog is intended to be humorous, absurd and sarcastic - because these are expressions that chronically ill people often deny or keep to themselves. I get the most responses of "hallelujah" to the sarcastic and biting blog posts - catharsis for being sweet and "positive" too much. I believe in the Healing Power of Sarcasm! Perhaps you will enjoy my writing and be inspired to DONATE (hint, hint).

If anything on this site has touched your heart, affected you, helped you or a loved one, then read this: I am raising money to pay for an intensive treatment program with a high success rate, which I cannot currently afford. You can find out more about the treatment I need, ways to donate (it's tax-deductible!), and also fundraising events, projects and volunteer opportunities by choosing PLEASE HELP. Thank you and bless you.
